State Delegates
1. Description
The DLRA is a National Organization, to make it easier for many members to contact a local official we have State Delegates.
The State Delegate is nominated at the Annual General Meeting each year and is a trained accredited DLRA official.
2. Responsibility
- The role of the State Delegate is to assist members in their State. This may be with communication and documentation, interpretation of the rules and regulations or getting their vehicle inspected prior to Speed Week..
3. Knowledge and Skills
- A knowledge of the structure of the DLRA and the members who are performing official duties.
- A good knowledge of the DLRA rules and regulations.
- Experience with Speed Week either as a spectator or Official.
- Good communication skills.
4. Duties
- As directed or required to respond to requests of members or potential members from their State.
- State Delegates can organise formal or informal general meetings or inspection days in their State.
- Promote the DLRA within their State.
Note: The difference between an executive committee member’s role and other
roles
A executive committee member role is a strategic position within the club and consequently, a executive committee member is responsible for governing the club. A executive committee member’s role should not be confused with
the management and operational roles of an organization (like a Race Director, Inspector, Timer or Starter). The day-to-day work of the organization is
managed and completed by these volunteers with the club. Unless you also hold an
execution (operational) role, it is not your responsibility to perform or be involved in the day-to-day
running of the club.
